Haptic feedback is also present in here, with the controller vibrating according to the angle and type of terrain you’re currently running on. It might not seem like a lot, but considering the fact you’re constantly climbing slopes with slightly underpowered dirt bikes, that does add an extra layer of immersion to what would have actually been a very run-of-the-mill racing experience. There is one thing the developers took advantage of, thankfully: MXGP 2020 does utilize the DualSense’s adaptive triggers just like DIRT 5 did. It usually drops whenever there are too many bikers onscreen at once, especially at the beginning of each race.

The sole fact that the framerate has been improved for the most part already showcases one of MXGP 2020‘s issues: occasional framerate drops that will hinder gameplay. The addition of Race Director Mode a transplant from the Monster Energy Supercross titles at a later date will definitely help, but a more substantial update in 2021 would be even better. MXGP 2021 is largely the same as last year’s official motocross videogame, so whilst.

For instance, the actual PS4 version of DIRT 5. A common blight with annual sports games is they frequently exhibit only minor updates with each iteration. But honestly, I’ve played countless PS4 games that looked and ran much better than this one. Sure, the game runs at a much higher resolution, it does feature HDR support, the texture quality has been improved, and for the most part, the framerate has been improved.
But all in all, MXGP 2020 doesn’t exactly look like what the next generation of gaming should look like. Textures have been improved, as you can see. For instance, while players can crash, the rider isn't shown being hurt or killed. For the most part, it has no objectionable content.

It has similar physics and controls, but just like most early titles that come out right after the initial launch lineup batch, it feels more like a slightly prettier last-gen game than a proper showcase of what’s to come in future years. The PS5 version of MXGP 2020 is good, it gets the job done in terms of content (even if it’s exactly the same amount of content featured in its predecessor) and overall gameplay. Sure, it’s a bit of a bummer, but what I really wanted to see was how Milestone would take advantage of the PS5’s horsepower to bring their franchise to a brand new generation of consoles. I was already expecting for MXGP 2020 to feature basically the same kind of content, just like most yearly sports titles based on licensed seasons, and that’s exactly what I got. I played MXGP 2019 a year and a half and thoroughly enjoyed its visuals, sheer amount of content, track editor, and most importantly, its excellent “playground mode”, even if the controls took some time to get used to. I’m no stranger to Milestone’s MXGP games. Also how whoever is in first at the beginning of the race they pull away from the rest of the pack way too fast.I’m only going at like 55mph, but the motion blur is going through the roof.
Now on to the AI I’ve watched the AI make moves that make no sense like, cutting the track but god forbid I go a inch off the track and get reset. Speed wobbles for absolutely no reason also it just happens for like no reason at all. Some burms/ruts your rider won’t even lean into and it’s almost like a tiny wall on the track that you can’t lean into at all no matter how slow you go. It comes down to some very bad physics,AI, and other frustrating things.multiple times I will turn a little to set up for the next corner in the air note that I’m barely turning and as soon as I land my bike just goes flat for absolutely no reason and I wreck.

Present on the digital stores of Xbox One, Xbox Series XS, PS4, PS5 and PC through Steam, MXGP 2021 pretty much follows on from those games which came before it (and our reviews of MXGP Pro, MXGP. It This game is fun in the beginning but after a while it gets VERY dry and annoying. I preordered the game and honestly very much regret it.
